Joking with Steve: Book One

Joking With Steve book one will release soon on Amazon Kindle.
All editions on Kindle will be .99 cents.
My younger years were spent growing up on Long Island, New York, where a big Italian family meant Sunday dinners with large, extended families. And I mean large. You’d think we had the monopoly for Italian bread and pasta, and our appetites matched our size.
Our knack for teasing and joking was as big as the plates of spaghetti being passed down the long dinner table. Sometimes the incessant teasing led to secret revenge sessions behind closed doors, so not to let our parents know. Mom’s wooden bristle broom was as stinging as the cruel jokes we played on each other.
I found full time employment as soon as I was old enough; glad to be gone all day from the craziness. When I got a job in New York City, the hour long train ride from my home in North Babylon to Manhattan provided me time to think up dry, corny jokes for entertaining the car of sleepy commuters.
Now, retired and known for my “train humor,” I needed a new audience. My sister pushed me to type up this first edition of jokes. She bemoans our conversations, knowing any topic she shares is subject to becoming a joke for my next book.
Some stare. Others mumble, “Huh?” but everyone finds a laugh as I blurt out jokes seemingly non-stop.
Go ahead, have a laugh on me!
